The Mexico operations arm of the logistics company has inaugurated the full scale of operations in its automotive supply chain.
Carlos Renteral, General Manager said: “Through strategic partnerships our service portfolio now includes stevedoring and port operations within Port of Veracruz as well as distribution management throughout Mexico . This is on top of our off-port facility in Puente Villa Rica facility 15 kilometres off the port of Veracruz, which we continue to develop. We expect to have 18 hectares of land available to us, all paved, fenced and lighted with security, towards end of February 2018. In addition, the purpose-built Vehicle Processing Center will also be operative.”
The ambition is to provide seamless automotive supply chain services to the OEM market, under one management and IT system.
Carlos elaborated: “The supply chain is so fragmented today, we believe strongly in bringing all pieces together and provide 24/7 end-to-end visibility to our customers of every movement we make. This is the only way to make sure we, and they, operate as efficient as possible.”
Horizon Auto Logistics expects to handle between 100,000 and 200,000 autos in 2018.
