Automotive executives gathered at the Fourth Automotive Global Awards North America. Held in the heart of Motor City, The Westin Book Cadillac Detroit has historically been one of the city’s most illustrious hotels. Having been restored to its original splendour of 1924, it is now a modern emblem of a legendary city revitalized.
The Awards delivered their promise of celebrating the successes of the audience and the industry as a whole, with Terry Virts, NASA Astronaut presiding over the evening. The purpose of the Awards held fast throughout: that every guest left feeling renewed with positivity for the industry they are passionate about.
The Awards were presented following the successful Automotive Leaders Summit, which is an annual conference that attracts top automotive executives from around the world to discuss industry trends, forecasts and strategies.
Celebrations for the 2018 North American Automotive Global Awards commenced with a champagne reception and opening address by Peter Wooding, Chief Executive of host company Three6Zero. The prestigious awards ceremony, where individuals and companies across 21 categories were honoured, built on the success of its three previous North American Awards events by once more delighting guests with excellent food and opulent surroundings.
Kicking off the evening, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles was crowned the winner of the OEM of the Year Award, which honors the vehicle manufacturer that has done most to foster collaboration and partnership with its service providers. The award was nominated and voted for by senior global executives from across the automotive industry via the Automotive Purchasing & Supply Chain website. FCA won the online vote over last year’s winners Ford Motor Company, and GM, BMW, Mercedes-Benz and Volkswagen.
