United Road Services, a provider of finished vehicle transport logistics based in Michigan, has announced the appointment of Mark Anderson as CEO, effective January 1, 2019.
Anderson currently serves as president and COO. Kathleen McCann, chairman and CEO, made the announcement. “This is a natural transition for the company at a pivotal time in our history,” she said. “United Road has a diverse and growing customer base. We have been fortunate to achieve thoughtful growth through an unflagging commitment to excellence. Mark has the passion and experience to take the reins in 2019, enabling me, as executive chairman, to focus on strategy.”
McCann joined the company in 2011. United Road has since more than doubled in size both organically and through acquisitions. Its customer base is now 10,000 unique customers, and it has expanded its carrier network, enhanced its proprietary technology, and is on track to move more than 3.5 million finished and remarketed vehicles throughout the US and Canada in 2018.
Anderson joined the company in 2014 as COO and added president to his title with a promotion in 2016. He has more than 25 years of experience leading businesses with significant logistics components, including car hauling, solid waste collection, fuel distribution, OEM plant services, and others.
“United Road’s mission is to be the supplier and employer of choice in finished vehicle logistics,” said McCann. “Mark has proven himself an able leader. In the past five years, he has successfully led several key initiatives which have expanded our service network, introduced efficiencies in our operations, and secured new business. He has earned the trust of our customers and our people. United Road will be in great hands with Mark in the driver’s seat.”
A nationwide search is underway for a new COO.
