Ryder System has been named a Partner-level supplier for 2016 in John Deere’s Achieving Excellence Programme. This is the second year in a row that Ryder earns the Partner-level status, Deere & Company’s highest supplier rating. Ryder was selected for the honour in recognition of its dedication to providing products and service of outstanding quality, as well as its commitment to continuous improvement.
“Ryder is honoured to be named a Partner-level supplier by John Deere,” said Steve Sensing, President of Global Supply Chain Solutions, Ryder. “We focus not only on creating customer relationships, but also maintaining and growing those relationships. John Deere is a testament to that notion, as they’ve trusted and relied on Ryder to help them serve their customers for the past two decades.”
Ryder provides supply chain solutions, including distribution management and dedicated transportation, to John Deere’s agricultural tractor manufacturing operations in Waterloo, Iowa. Following LEAN guiding principles, Ryder’s Distribution Management solution helps streamline distribution networks, from design and implementation to operations management. Under a Ryder Dedicated Transportation Solutions agreement, the Company provides professional drivers, specialised equipment, and engineering support.
Suppliers who participate in the John Deere Achieving Excellence Programme are evaluated annually in several key performance categories, including quality, cost management, delivery, technical support and wavelength, which is a measure of responsiveness. John Deere Supply Management created the programme in 1991 to provide a supplier evaluation and feedback process that promotes continuous improvement.
