The vehicle logistics specialist MOSOLF is taking over the 50% share held by the Schnellecke Group in SAT Sächsische Autotransport und Service GmbH.
The business sites in Glauchau, Gössnitz, Rackwitz and Zwickau will therefore be fully integrated within the MOSOLF Group’s network. “With this move, MOSOLF is completing the next logical step towards forming a simpler and ever more customer-oriented network structure,” says Dr. Jörg Mosolf, CEO of MOSOLF SE & Co. KG.
In principle, nothing will change for the customers and employees of SAT Sächsische Autotransport und Service GmbH through the change in ownership. All the business operations and activities in the field of automobile logistics will continue as usual. Mike Leichsenring and Wolfgang Göbel will remain managing directors of SAT Sächsische Autotransport und Service GmbH. However, there will be changes in the company’s inward and outward appearance. The company will gradually switch to the current corporate design of the MOSOLF Group. The green, special vehicle transporters, for example, will be progressively replaced by the familiar blue MOSOLF trucks.
SAT Sächsische Autotransport und Service GmbH was founded as a joint company by both Horst Mosolf GmbH & Co. KG, Kirchheim unter Teck, and the international freight forwarding company, Rolf Schnellecke, Wolfsburg, at the Zwickau/Glauchau site in 1991. Each partner held 50% of the shares.
SAT Sächsische Autotransport und Service GmbH now handles the complete logistics services for new and used vehicles for manufacturers, dealers and fleet operators at its business sites and it acts as the releasing agent at the Volkswagen factory at Zwickau/Mosel. It handles more than 545,000 vehicles every year at its business sites in Glauchau, Gössnitz, Rackwitz und Zwickau as well as the factory at Zwickau/Mosel; in all, it has operating space measuring 47.2 hectares. The company also provides specific vehicle services like PDIs, SMART repairs, coatings, decals or reworking of technical and visual flaws at its workshop space measuring 7,000 square metres.
