A joint venture between Daimler and Renault/Nissan called Cooperation Manufacturing Plant Aguascalientes (COMPAS) led to the development of a new automobile assembly plant in the Central Part of Mexico at the City of Aguascalientes.
This plant was opened in Q4/2017. Nissan already has two plants that are located in the vicinity.
This new Plant will be producing vehicles for both Infinity and Mercedes Benz brands. The majority of the manufactured vehicles will be exported through the Ports of Altamira and Mazatlán.
AMPORTS has been awarded the Altamira traffics which will begin receiving COMPAS vehicles in this 2-Q 2018. The estimated volume of vehicles will be approximately 23,592 in 2018, 96,201 in 2019 and 105,000 per year between 2020 and 2022.
