Mazda Motor Europe (MME) announced that Olesen, (60) Vice President of Customer Service and Logistics will retire on March 31, 2016 after almost 18 years of service with Mazda.
Recognising the wide breadth of Jorgen’s current responsibility in Mazda’s European organisation, his many duties will be shared among several senior leaders.
Therefore, from March 1, 2016, MME announced the following transitions:
- Alex Janssens, presently Mazda Europe’s Chief Information Officer and member of MME’s senior team, will additionally take responsibility for Parts Supply and Logistics in Willebroek, Belgium
- Christine Plasmans, presently in charge of Finance and Accounting at Mazda Logistics Europe, will assume responsibility for Mazda Logistics Europe’s (MLE) Vehicle Logistics Operations
- Dirk Weiss will assume all of Jorgen’s responsibilities in Leverkusen, including leading Customer Service Department, Quality Assurance and Accessory Development. In his new role, Dirk will report to Martijn ten Brink
- Eric Segers will continue to oversee MLE’s Human Resources and General Administration responsibilities, reporting to Bruno L. Mueller.

Among numerous accomplishments, he was instrumental in the creation of our European logistics network, the development of e-Motive and Digital Service Record, and in pioneering the use of the trans-Siberian railroad for delivering cars from Japan to points west in Russia. We will miss him and we wish him and his family all the very best for the coming years in his retirement” said Jeff Guyton, President and CEO of MME.
“At the same time we welcome our colleagues Christine Plasmans and Dirk Weiss in the senior management team. These appointments are well deserved, as Christine and Dirk are very capable professionals and have been key contributors to our business over the course of their significant careers at Mazda,” said Jeff Guyton.
