On July 1, and with approximately 140 employees, Schnellecke is taking over the responsibility for selected areas of the supply chain, for example the physical incoming goods, including the warehousing of parts bins and empties management. The scope of services also includes the sequencing of parts and modules from the assembly and paint shop raw parts departments in parts-specific sequencing racks using modern picking systems. Schnellecke therefore makes sure that parts variants or modules are delivered to the assembly line just in time and just in sequence. The customer will also make use of further Schnellecke core competences: the packaging of motorbike parts into shipment sizes for the transport overseas and the complex replacement parts logistics.
After Leipzig, Dingolfing and Wackersdorf, this challenging task is already the fourth cooperation in Germany between Schnellecke and the premium manufacturer. The implementation of the logistics processes in the so-called Supply Centre East is being carried out in accordance with the Schnellecke Project Management methodology. Within the project team all relevant work packages are assigned to the people responsible, the project phases, milestones, and the project structure plan are defined, as well as the qualification of the employees – an important element and success factor for Schnellecke in this project.
