Paragon Automotive, the UK’s largest supplier of end-of-life and PDI services for vehicle manufacturers has opened a processing centre for Kia Motors UK at Stallingborough on the outskirts of Grimsby.
All Kia vehicles imported into the UK through the port of Immingham, Kia’s only point of entry, will be processed at the new facility into which Paragon has invested £20 million and agreed a 10-year contract with Kia.
Ian Carlisle, Chief Executive Officer at Paragon, said: “The automotive industry is a real success story for UK plc and is leading the sector’s recovery in Europe. A new partnership-led approach is required to create capacity through the supply chain. This will enable new investment and help to smooth volumes. Our partnership with Kia Motors UK demonstrates this principle well – locking in long-term strategic relationships to yield the best value and future-proofed solutions for our customer.”
Yaser Shabsogh, Kia’s Commercial Director, said: “Kia has had a great deal of success in the UK over the last ten years and we have gone from selling around 30,000 cars in the UK to around 80,000 This new facility is to support us in getting to 100,000 cars, possibly 120,000. I am very proud of the relationship we have with Paragon and the new arrangement that we have entered into.”
